History of Organization

Founded in 2024, PinkCostFree was created by a group of high school students, aspiring to make feminine hygiene products more attainable and affordable. Driven by the idea of promoting accessibility towards women’s health, they were committed to break down the financial barriers which often prevent others from accessing essential hygiene products. Soon after the organization was founded, they continued the vision of this organization and established an internal team. Through monthly meetings and collaborative efforts, PinkCostFree became an organization consisting of members with common goals: to improve access to women’s health and help the community.

Meet Our Team

Angela Wu

Founder / Creative Chair

Angela Wu was born in Shanghai and had moved to America during her early childhood. She grew up feeling connected to her community and interested in the everyday individuals who helped create and grow the society she lives in. She co-founded PinkCostFree because period poverty is an issue whose effects can be seen in many communities, including her own. Angela hopes to help women in need and ameliorate society by solving this issue one person and product at a time.

Molly Wu

Founder / Finance Chair / Programming Chair

Born in Shanghai China, Molly moved to the US as a child. Molly has always avidly advocated for feminine hygiene and women’s health. She co-founded PinkCostFree because she noticed the issues surrounding the high monetary requirement for access to basic feminine hygiene products. Through this organization, she hopes to reach a wider audience and advocate for change to better the lives of women around her and across the globe.

Richelle Yao

Founder / Public Relations Chair

Richell Yao grew up in Chengdu, China, and has spent her summer and winter vacations exploring different countries to immerse herself in diverse cultures and broaden her perspective. Lisa Wei

Founder / Editor in Chief / President

Growing up in California, New Jersey, and Hangzhou, China, Lisa learned to be broad-minded at a young age. As a child, she noticed that across the globe, there were many people who needed access to basic necessities, such as affordable hygiene products. Her experiences led her to devote her time to advocating against period stigma and period poverty through PinkCostFree. As a co-founder of PinkCostFree, she hopes to inspire others and improve access to menstrual products and overall support.
